Rockstar has filled in the launch details that were still open. Vice and Push Square both report the same three facts. We could not reach Rockstar's own post from our sandbox, so we are relying on those two outlets.
Pre-load: November 10
Pre-loading begins on November 10. Push Square says Rockstar brought it forward by two days. Our earlier pages listed November 12. We have updated them.
Vice notes that pre-loading does not give early access. You can download the game. You cannot play it until launch.
Push Square also reports that the boxed version contains a code, not a disc, and goes on sale November 12. That code can be redeemed to pre-load. We saw this from one outlet only, so treat it as reported.
Unlock: midnight local time
Rockstar says GTA 6 will release at midnight local time in each region. The game goes live as November 19 arrives in each time zone. New Zealand gets it first.
Size: 212GB on PS5
The PS5 storage requirement is 212GB, according to Vice and Push Square. Clear at least that much space. Earlier figures near 210GB came from store-data trackers and were unofficial. Do not confuse these with the dev-build numbers in the October leaks.
What did not change
The launch date is still November 19, 2026. See the full release date guide.
