Which edition should you actually buy?
Now that real pricing is out, the honest guidance mirrors GTA 5 and RDR2:
- Most people: standard edition ($79.99). Deluxe tiers have historically been cosmetic + in-game-cash, not extra missions.
- GTA Online players: the $99.99 Ultimate Edition can pay for itself if you'll play online heavily — but wait to see what the GTA Online 2 bonuses actually include before committing.
- Collectors: no physical/collector's tier is confirmed yet. If one appears, expect it to sell out fast and get scalped hard — decide your limit in advance.
Get ready to pre-order
- Accounts: confirm your PSN/Xbox login and payment method work — launch-window store crashes are a tradition.
- Storage & pre-load: digital pre-loads open November 12. Rockstar hasn't announced a file size (leaked "200GB+" claims are about a development build), so aim to have around 200GB free. Details.
- Console check: PS5 or Series X|S only. If you're still on last-gen, that's the thing to sort first.
